This is Day 2 of the safety passport for the quarry and minerals industry which is run in conjunction with MPQC (Mineral Products Qualifications Council) formerly known as EPIC. The Quarry safety passport (sometimes known as the EPIC card) training course covers topics such as dust, confined spaces and hazard awareness.
Duration: 1 day.
Who Should Attend:
This MPQC Quarry Day programme is best suited for managers and employees of companies working within the mineral and extraction industry seeking a better understanding of the relevant health and safety issues.
This training programme is designed to enhance the contractor awareness of health and safety issues and procedures in the workplace. Furthermore, this MPQC Quarry Day 2 training programme will encourage safe behaviour during day to day work activities in the extractives industry. This training programme is the 2nd part of a two part training programme within MPQC Quarry Safety.
The content for this MPQC Quarry Day 2 training programme is structured as follows:
- Health and safety - How to safely manage quarries - Safe working cranes and heavy lifting equipment - Safe working excavations and confined spaces - Working at heights.
The training options for this qualification include: - Combined with the SPA Quarry Day 1 course; - The 1 Day SPA Renewal Course (for those with a ‘Q’ icon on their passport); - The 1 Day MPQC Renewal Course (for those with an ‘MP’ icon on their passport).
Please note: If you hold any other safety qualifications, you may be exempt from sitting the first Core day of the 2 Day course. Please get in touch if you think you might hold an exemption as you may not need to attend both days.
To be exempt from Day 1, you must hold a MPQC Quarry Card. Assessment:
A short, multiple choice examination on the day.
Successful delegates receive a nationally-recognised certificate and card from SPA/MPQC, which expires after 3 years.
The course either has new dates in data loading, or is only run as a dedicated or In Company course.
