A new one day classroom based course will provide candidates with an introduction to environmental issues on construction sites. It is designed to meet the basic environmental = knowledge that the sub-contract chain are required to prove to major contractors. It also covers the environmental aspects of the new HS&E touch screen test.
At the end of the course delegates will have gained knowledge and skills in:
- What the environment is and why it is important
- Outline of environmental management systems
- Waste management
- Pollution prevention and water management
- Good neighbour- statutory nuisance, communication
- Archaeology and heritage
- Energy and resources
- Being a responsible contractor.
The method of assessment will be by multiple choice questions at the end of the course. It is also expected that delegates interact during the course.
This course is supported by GE 700E/13 Construction Site Safety Section E- Environment and also the XA6.
