Rooftop Safety (Arqiva)

This course meets the Arqiva Radio Frequency framework.

Aims and Suitability:

Delegates will be proficient in the risk assessment and use of rooftop systems, edge protection, anchorage systems and the practical elements of working on rooftops. Delegates will also be proficient in PPE selection, usage, maintenance and inspection including termination dates and associated documentation.

Course Contents:

- Health and safety legislation.
- Hazards for rooftop access.
- Risk assessment and method statements.
- Fixed ladder access to rooftops.
- PPE selection and usage.
- Fixed and adjustable restraint systems.
- PPE maintenance and inspection.
- Anchor types, systems and selection.

Delivery and Assessment:

Classroom based theory and practical climbing and rescue sessions with scenario-based activities. Written and practical assessment to ensure theoretical and practical understanding has been achieved.

Course Requirements:

Delegates must be over 18 yrs, physically fit, able to work at height. Delegates will be required to complete a medical declaration.

Equipment Required:

Delegates will need to bring suitable climbing PPE and clothing for seasonal weather conditions. Climbing PPE may be provided upon request.
