Study Method and Duration:
The programme is extremely flexible, with course material displayed as online PDFs which can be read online or downloaded for offline study when it's more convenient. Course materials are also provided in audiobook form, so students can listen to it read aloud through the software or download it and listen offline later.
In addition to the reading content, students have a wealth of interactive material including activities and video summaries of all content. We also provide mock assessments which provide you with instant feedback to compare your answers and Tutor marked assessments to prepare you for your final assessments.
Recommended study hours:
Our team of expert mentors will be available to offer full learning support throughout the duration of the course. They can be contacted by phone, email, Skype or via our technical tutor support messaging system.
We also provide a closed, invitation only Facebook Group for our students. With well in excess of a thousand members, this is an invaluable resource for students and the perfect place to share knowledge, learn from others and ask any questions that crop up. Students can post attempts at activities and questions, and discuss with each other as well as tutors. We also keep every delegate updated by sending out a monthly student newsletter.
Assessments for this course take the form of a written examination for each of the two taught units. Following the successful completion of each unit, candidates receive a unit certificate. A practical assessment must also be completed. This takes place at delegates’ own workplace, or a workplace that they can gain access to. After completing the two exams and practical assessment, candidates are awarded a certificate award parchment.
This course is accepted by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health in meeting the academic requirements for technician membership (Tech IOSH). In addition, it is accepted by the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management for associate membership.
