Our Foundation Level Manual Handling courses are aimed at support staff whose main role is the handling of people and are designed specifically for the workplace service provider be it residential, nursing or home based.

How do we approach manual handling training?

Our course programme employs a variety of teaching techniques to meet the needs of individual delegates and includes the following:

- Predisposing factors of musculoskeletal injuries
- Postural awareness and static loading
- Spinal awareness
- Principles of safer handling
- Legislation
- Risk assessment
- Unsafe practice
- Practical client handling techniques
- Hoist training
- Team handling

Owing to the practical nature of this course a basic level of general fitness is required. Delegates must be physically able to carry out the procedures detailed in the course outline.

Duration: This course is of 6 hours (one day) duration

Method of Assessment: Multiple Choice Question Paper

Course Materials and Certification:

We’ll provide delegates with a variety of printed course materials including workbooks and handouts. On successful completion of this course delegates will receive a printed course certificate.

The course either has new dates in data loading, or is only run as a dedicated or In Company course.
