This programme is designed for any person(s) who are involved in manual handling in the workplace i.e. Employers, Managers, Supervisors or Operatives.
Aims and Objectives of the course
To provide delegates with a thorough understanding of how to minimise the risk of injury to themselves and others by increasing awareness of potential manual handling hazards in the workplace and their outcomes.
Classroom based tutorials including discussion, group exercises, supporting videos and commentary. Practical exercises.
For training held at your own location please ensure you make available a suitable room, which can comfortably accommodate with seating the number of delegates attending. We will also require a 240v power supply.
Candidate Eligibility/Entry Requirements
It is vital that all candidates who attend the course have a good understanding of spoken and written English.
During your course your will cover the following;
- Health & Safety at work Act 1974
- Manual handling regulations
- Management of Health & Safety at
- Work Regulations
- Accident statistics
- The functions of the spine and muscular system
- Typical injuries
- Hazard identification and assessment of:
- The task
- The load
- The working environment
- Individual capabilities
- Correct handling techniques
- Practical exercises and tuition
Usually 8.00am - 4.00pm. Course times will be confirmed in the joining instructions once the course has been booked.
