The Level 2 Award in Security Guarding is a legal requirement for any person applying for an SIA security guarding licence. 

The course takes three days to complete and consists of the following elements:

Identity, passport, certification, address, right to work and counter signatory checks will also be carried out and if applying for a frontline licence you must have achieved the appropriate SIA approved training qualification. You must also have read and signed a Physical Intervention pre-course declaration to show you are able to carry out the physical intervention part of the course.

Delegates will be required to participate in practical sessions. They should come prepared in comfortable clothing and be physically fit when arriving on the course.

If you have any medical conditions which limit / hinder your involvement of participation in activities, you are obliged to declare any relevant, current or previous injuries/illness. If you are diagnosed as an asthmatic, diabetic or epileptic, or have allergies that you believe the course staff needs to be aware of, you must advise us accordingly. Please note that any declaration of injury or illness does not automatically preclude you from any course. You should be further aware that if you are on a regular course of medication for any condition; you must have sufficient medication to cover you throughout the course. Although first aid cover is provided during courses, no doctor is available to replenish regular medication, nor is there any facility to deliver medical treatment for chronic medical conditions.
