Course Overview:

For many years organisations big and small have recognised the impact of negative employee health and wellbeing.
For most it’s the biggest cause of employee absence. The 2016/17 figures stated by the HSE show that 1.3 million UK workers suffered from a work-related ill health issue, whilst over 70,000 workers suffered a RIDDOR reportable accident. These figures demonstrate the everyday experiences of most employers across a variety of industry
sectors. A large number of organisations
have developed relatively effective methods of controlling safety risks but are still left wanting when it comes to managing the health and wellbeing of their workforce. The skills developed by safety professionals are not necessarily transferable to the challenges posed by occupational health and wellbeing issues, leaving many organisations vulnerable
and at risk.

Who is this course for?

It’s time to recognise the need for a different approach to upskilling managers, H&S advisors and HR professionals. This will enable organisations to both recognise the
causes and manage the cases of ill health and support the positive wellbeing of its employees. Which in turn is likely to result in a more engaged, healthier, happier and ultimately more productive workforce.

No previous health and safety qualifications are required to attend this course.

Course outcomes:

This course gives delegates the skills and knowledge they need to keep their teams healthy at work. Successful delegates are awarded an IOSH Managing Occupational Health and Wellbeing certificate.
