Who Should Attend

This course is aimed at supervisors, team leaders and line managers working in all sectors of the food industry. It would be particularly useful for supervisors undertaking either an internal audit or supplier approval and would also benefit those seeking BRC certification. This qualification may also be appropriate for those who have completed the Level 4 Awards in Managing Food Safety.

What You Will Learn

By the end of the course candidates will:

- Be able to explain audit and inspection terminology
- Be able to apply the knowledge relating to the role of the auditor in carrying out effective audits or inspections
- Understand the purpose of audits and inspections
- Understand the benefits and limitations of audits and inspections
- Be able to describe the competencies required by and characteristics of a good inspector
- Be able to explain the stages involved in the inspection cycle
- Be able to describe the techniques used by effective inspectors
- Be able to apply analysis techniques to their findings


Minimum recommendation is the Level 3 Award in Food Safety in Catering Level 3 Award in Food Safety Supervision for Manufacturing and/or Level 3 Award in HACCP in Catering or Food Manufacturing.
