We are pleased to offer the HABC Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work as an accredited qualification. The course will familiarise students with the roles and responsibilities of the Emergency First Aider, including assessing an incident, recognising signs and symptoms of injury and illness, and assisting a casualty who is suffering from injury and illness. Students will learn and be assessed on their practical ability to deal with casualties who have stopped breathing, are unconscious, are bleeding and suffering from shock.
Examination and Certification:
Candidates are assessed by an ongoing practical assessment by the Tutor throughout the course.
All successful students will be issued with an Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate which lasts for a period of 3 years, along with a wallet-sized plastic card detailing their qualifications.
The accrediting body for this course is Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance (HABC).
Our 1 day course fully complies with the HSE Minimum Training Standard for the purposes of the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981, and the Training Standard for the purposes of the Health and Safety (First-Aid) (NI) Regulations 1982.

What next?
The qualification is valid for a period of three years and, in order to re-qualify, learners must be assessed against all learning outcomes and assessment criteria within the qualification.
Following the completion of this qualification, learners may wish to go on to take the following qualifications:
- HABC Level 2 Award in Paediatric First Aid (QCF)
- HABC Level 2 Award in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillation (QCF)
- HABC Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (QCF)
