The award in First Aid at Work is aimed at those who wish to become a First Aider in the workplace for the purposes of the Health and Safety (First Aid) regulations 1981
What will you get out of it?
Persons taking this course will learn that First Aid is the responsibility of everyone in the working environment. Its topics are regarded by the Health and Safety Executive as being important to maintaining good practice and the safe, prompt and effective treatment of ill health in the work place.
Successful candidates will receive a Highfield accredited A4 certificate and a plastic wallet sized card detailing their qualification.
Units covered include:
- Incident Management
- Dealing With Shock
- Dealing With An Unconscious Casualty
- A 12 question multiple choice written paper
- A practical assessment
First Aid at Work Certificates are valid for 3 years. These must then be renewed by taking the First Aid at Work Refresher training. Candidates have 28 days before and after their expiry date to renew. After this time has lapsed the full training must be taken again.
Certificates and cards will be dispatched to the address provided on the candidate registration form.
