Who Should Attend?

This half day course provides candidates with a good foundation of knowledge, skills and awareness to appreciate equal opportunities within the workplace. This programme not only positions and explores appropriate current and pending legislation, but goes a step further to look at the value to the business of sound equality and diversity practices.

- Recognising and building a picture of equality and diversity
- Developing an understanding of the importance and value of equality and diversity at work
- Reviewing key legislation and the impact it has within the workplace
- What does the new Equality Act 2010 mean?
- Appreciating the value of diversity
- Understanding the different attitudes towards equality
- Promote and encourage equality and diversity at work

What You Will Learn

By the end of the course candidates will:

- Improve employee relations at all levels including internal and external customers
- Have greater confidence in decisions and knowing how to behave
- Be able to address your organisation’s obligations
- Know how to reduce the risk of discrimination and the threat of legal challenges
- Understand what is acceptable or unacceptable
- Know how to reduce conflict and confrontation at all levels in the organisation
- Understand how to help make the organisation a better place to work
