Who Should Attend?
This qualification is ideal for those wishing to become an Emergency First Aider in lower risk workplaces or higher risk organisations where additional first aid trained team members are required for the purposes of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. The qualification includes both theory and practical sessions and is delivered in a relaxed format that is designed to boost confidence.
Course Content:
Topics covered include:
- The roles and responsibilities of the First Aider
- Assessing an incident
- Recognising signs and symptoms of injury and illness
- Assisting a casualty who is suffering from injury and illness.
Certification:
All successful delegates will be issued with an Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate which is valid for a period of 3 years.
Pre-requisites:
Delegates are required to be 16 years of age prior to certification.
Additional Information:
Delegates will be required to participate in practical sessions. They should come prepared in comfortable clothing and be physically fit when arriving on the course.
If you have any medical conditions which limit / hinder your involvement of participation in activities, you are obliged to declare any relevant, current or previous injuries/illness. If you are diagnosed as an asthmatic, diabetic or epileptic, or have allergies that you believe the course staff needs to be aware of, you must advise us accordingly. Please note that any declaration of injury or illness does not automatically preclude you from any course.
You should be further aware that if you are on a regular course of medication for any condition; you must have sufficient medication to cover you throughout the course. Although first aid cover is provided during courses, no doctor is available to replenish regular medication, nor is there any facility to deliver medical treatment for chronic medical conditions. Please provide any relevant information regarding the above medical information during the application process.
