This option is for Excavator Operators wanting to take a CPCS test to gain their Red Trained Operator Card for this category. This is a 3-day course which includes 1 day for testing. This course is for intermediate to experienced level.
Pre-course Requirements: Delegates must have passed the appropriate Health, Safety & Environment Test. This must have been taken not more than 2-years before the date of the Technical Test. The delegate must be able to provide evidence of this.
Course Details: - Roles and responsibilities - Excavator controls and terminology. - Regulations and legislation. - Undertake all pre-use checks. - Travel over rough, undulating ground, substantial inclines and level surfaces. - Manoeuvre in confined spaces. - Excavate differing types of excavations in various types of ground. - Place materials into transporting vehicles and hoppers. - Grade, spread and level ground materials. The Technical Test: Theory Test - This is a verbal test, on a one-to-one basis with the Tester. The CPCS Theory test questions are available to study prior to attending the course and will be sent with the Joining Instructions. Practical Test - This is a manual test to prove your operating ability on the machine meets the standard required for the CPCS Red Trained Operator Card.
Outcome: Successful candidates will receive their CPCS Trained Operator Card (Red) endorsed with the category A58 360 Excavator below 10 Tonnes - Tracked. What Next? The Red Trained Operator CPCS card is only valid for 2 years. Within this time you must complete your NVQ level 2 to convert from the Red card to the CPCS Competent Operator (Blue) card.
Grants/Levys CITB grants can be claimed by employers registered with CITB for employees who have completed training, achieved the CPCS Technical Test or achieved the SVQ or NVQ.
The course either has new dates in data loading, or is only run as a dedicated or In Company course.
