The 3667-03 level 3 certificate is aimed principally at network cabling professionals who are seeking to learn about the design and planning processes in the world of communications cabling.
For existing comms cabling professionals looking to enhance their career and promotion prospects, City and Guilds 3667-03 is seen by many in the industry as the ultimate "must have" qualification.
The Level 3 Certificate in Designing and Planning Communications Networks (3667-03) combines the study of current telecomms and computer data networks, including copper cabling technologies, fibre optic cabling systems and other media . Looking in fine detail at the issues and protocols involved in planning and project management, the course really does "drill down" into the key elements of designing and planning a network.
The distinction between different job roles and responsibilities within organisations has always been the subject of much discussion and debate. However, with the convergence of both technology and expertise within areas of concern such as bandwidth, data security, quality of service, along with the need of a higher level of understanding of Ethernet applications, knowledge of TCP/IP is also examined, and in particular the increased deployment of "cloud computing, and the impact that this places on the communications cabling - all of this is discussed within the course.
The qualification provides progression for delegates who have already completed the City & Guilds Level 2 Award in Communications Cabling (City and Guilds 3667-02) and for those that have independently undertaken the Level 2 Diploma in ICT Systems and Principles.
Please note that candidates and delegates will need to successfully complete this mandatory module before moving on to one of the optional units.
Who Will Benefit?
This course and award is aimed at those who are involved in comms cabling infrastructure installations, or are involved at the design stage - or simply consider themselves to be a "networks" professional.
This course is really the ultimate "pathway" for individuals who want to further enhance their professional standing and potentially, increase their career prospects or simply would like to enhance their underpinning knowledge.
