What’s It About?
This level 3 food safety course will provide your employees with a comprehensive understanding of food safety. It will help them to examine everyone’s different roles in establishing and maintaining high standards within the workplace.
Who Should Attend?
This in-depth course is intended principally for those employees who are responsible for managing people. It is therefore ideal for anyone who has a responsibility for your HACCP system.
This course will help those who own or manage a small catering business to understand the Safer Food Better Business Pack, which is provided by the Food Standard Agency (FSA).
In addition, if you require supervisors or managers to teach basic food safety skills to other members of your team; providing they have the suitable experience and a teaching qualification such as the Level 3 Award in Training Principles and Practice; this course enables them to deliver in-house training.
Why’s It Important?
Under the Food Safety Act 1990 and the associated Food Hygiene Regulations you must ensure that those within your business who are responsible for developing and maintaining your food safety management procedures, e.g. HACCP based procedures, are appropriately trained.
This means that managers and supervisors should receive a more advanced level of training which highlights their specific responsibilities associated with supervising and managing a safe food operation.
The training should develop an understanding of what the principles of effective food safety management procedures are, how they are incorporated into working practices and procedures, what the key processes are and how they should be implemented within the business.
This qualification is also ideal for any food business that is striving to achieve a 5 star food safety rating.
What Will You Gain?
By attending this level 3 food safety course your employees will have the skills and confidence to manage food safety within your business.
Through the provision of information, instruction and on-the-job training your supervisors will ensure their team are able to identify food safety hazards. Consequently they will be able to prevent and control any potential food safety hazards within your business.
On returning to the workplace, they will understand the importance of training staff in good food hygiene practices. They will be able to take responsibility for, and effectively manage, all aspects of food safety within your business.
