Great emphasis is placed upon the practical application of Technical Analysis to trading and hedging activities - i.e. how does a trader think?

- Key types of chart: line, bar, Japanese candle-stick
- Closer examination of candle-stick analysis
- Dow Theory revisited; confirmation
- Trend-lines and volume
- Continuation patterns; triangles, flags and pennants, wedges
- Reversal patterns; head & shoulders, double/triple tops/bottoms, retracements
- Gaps; common gaps, breakaway gaps, runaway gaps, exhaustion gaps
- Non-textbook thinking
Day 2
- Mathematical Indicators
- Moving Averages
- Momentum indicators; Bollinger bands, RSI, Stochastics
- Waves, numbers and cycles; Fibonacci retracements, Elliot Wave
- Market Profile
- Back-testing a range of TA methods to identify those that best suit delegates markets and trading style
