There also some newer additions to the NEBOSH family, which include health and wellbeing at work and Oil and Gas safety.
Included in the choice of NEBOSH courses
is the option to take either national or internationally recognised qualifications. The national courses are designed for those working within the UK. They are based around current UK best practice and cover UK legislation, so delegates can be sure they are up to speed. The international qualifications are based on the structure and content of the national ones. However, they omit the UK specific legislation, which is not relevant for those working overseas. Delegates planning to work outside the UK on a permanent basis usually opt for the international option. Delegates working overseas on contract work often choose the national option, as it affords flexibility for their future career choice, while providing the kudos of a recognised course.
If you are currently considering a NEBOSH course, you will be pleased to discover that not only are they offered on a face to face basis, in locations throughout the UK, but also as distance learning courses. Candidates opting for distance learning courses benefit from all the quality learning materials, those enrolled in a classroom based program would. However they get to choose the pace they work at, and when to sit the exams.
Assessment for NEBOSH courses
is designed in such a way, that it tests both the knowledge and understanding candidates gain, and the application of this to practical work based situations. Most of the courses have at least two assessments, covering both of these areas. The practical assessment is due in after the exams, and takes the form of a written report, based around the candidates own work environment. Many training providers can provide a situation to complete the report, even if the candidate is not currently employed.
Whichever level or area of qualification a candidates choses, they can be sure that by completing a NEBOSH qualification, they will gain a well-respected qualification that will help them in their job and be a boon to their CV.
