The benefits of a NEBOSH course
Benefit 1 – Variety
The first key benefit of a National Exam Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) course, is the sheer variety of courses on offer. Broadly all relevant to the field of occupational health and safety, there are currently 14 general and specialised courses on offer. The subjects covered by NEBOSH
, other than general occupational health and safety include fire safety, construction safety, environmental management, management of health and well being, oil and gas and health, safety and environment in the process industries.
Additional variety is gained from the three distinct levels of qualification on offer. The first level is the award, the second is the certificate and the third is the diploma. The award level courses, of which there are two are the most basic, pitched at those seeking an introduction to occupational health and safety. The certificate level courses are the more advanced than the award level and so are designed for health and safety professionals. There are nine courses available in total and they come in general and specific formats and international and national varieties. The last qualification level is the diploma, the most advanced of all the NEBOSH
courses available. There are currently three on offer. So no matter what level you are at, or which subject you need to study, you can be sure that a NEBOSH will meet your needs.
Benefit 2 – Flexibility
The second key benefit of a NEBOSH
course is that you can choose a form of study that is best for you. There are several different study options available, so you can pick the one that suits your situation best, making it that bit easier to complete the course.
Firstly there is the classroom course. This is where candidates are taught in a group, face to face by a qualified NEBOSH
trainer. The advantages of this type of course are that you get direct interaction with the trainer and other members of your group. This makes in perfect for those who learn from discussing and listening.
Then there is the distance learning course. This is where candidates recive the written materials from a NEBOSH
trainer and work through these at there own pace. While they need to be self motivated to complete this type of course, there is support available from a tutor and others doing the course via telephone, email and social media.
This course is particularly well suited to those that wish to focus more time on certain elements and those who learn best when self directed. In addition, if you choose to book and take modules separately, it is also possible to mix and match the delivery of different modules, depending on your circumstances at the time, giving a grater range of flexibility to your studies.
Benefit 3 – Uk and international recognition
The last key benefit of a NEBOSH course, is that NEBOSH recognise that not all candidates are looking for employment within the UK. This recognition of the global health and safety market, has led them to devise both national and international relevant courses. So wherever you career takes you, you can be sure that your qualification will be applicable.
