The
SSSTS training course is accredited by the Construction Training Industry Board or CITB, as it is widely known. This means that no matter which course that you attend, they work to the same training specification. This ensures that all the elements laid out by the CITB are addressed, meaning that the course is of a recognised and comparable standard.
Reason 2: UKCG sites require it.
United Kingdom Contractors Group (UKCG) sites, require all their supervisors to have the
SSSTS training qualification. This shows it to be the industry standard and therefore of benefit whether you are working on a UKCG site or not. As, even if you are not working on a UKGC site, you will still hold a qualification that is widely acknowledged in construction throughout the UK.
Reason 3: Available all over the UK.
The
SSSTS training course is available in locations throughout the UK. This means that it is easy to find a venue close to you. By doing this, you can cut down travelling costs and time, making it easy to complete the course.
Reason 4: Provides training on health and safety and supervision.
Another key strength of the
SSSTS training course, is that it covers all of the key skills that effective supervisors will need on site. These include health and safety, environmental and welfare issues relevant to supervising in construction, possible health and safety hazards, site supervisors legal responsibilities, how the supervisors and manager roles work together to protect health and safety, risk assessments, site inductions, tool box talks and briefings.
Reason 5: Refresher is now available.
Making it even easier to keep your
SSSTS training, up to date is the single day refresher. This is a fairly new innovation in the SSSTS course, and it follows the successful example set by the refresher for longer SMSTS course. It means delegates that successfully complete the SSSTS course, can now keep their qualification in date by taking a one day refresher within the allotted time frame. The SSSTS certificate last for five years, and the CITB grant an additional six months grace. Therefore, delegates wishing to complete a refresher and not sit the full two day course over again must have this done before the 5 year and 6 month period expires. Taking the refresher benefits the delegate as it saves both time and money, whilst allowing them to continue to keep their SSSTS qualification in date.
Reason 6: Booking online.
With a number of reputable online training providers offering SSSTS courses, even the booking process has become much easier. Instead of speaking to individual trainers to compares dates, locations and prices, one call or email to an online service provider and they will do all the leg work for you. As they work with trainers throughout the country, they are in the best position to find the cheapest course with the best dates. Reputable providers also charge the same price for a course as the trainers themselves so you don’t even pay any extra for this service!
