Now that the level of course to be done has been established, the next job is the type of course. There are 66 categories of CPCS course and A17 telescopic handler training
is only one of these! In addition, the A17 telescopic handler training
category has four different endorsements. Endorsements are used when there is more than one size or weight of machine. The most popular telescopic handler training
endorsement is category C, which is all sizes excluding the 360 degree slew. This tends to be the main one that delegates choose because it allows them to drive both the A and B types. The A types of telescopic handler is the industrial telescopic and the B type is up to nine meters. In addition some providers offer the D endorsement, which allows delegates to drive all the above categories including the 360 degree slew. It is very important to know which size of telehandler you want to be qualified to use, as different providers use different machines and they may have to hire a less popular machine, resulting in additional cost for the delegate.
