ISO 9001
ISO 9001: 2000 evolved from the previous BS 5750 and ISO 9002 standards. ISO 9001: 2000 is now an International Standard for the quality management systems, and was the forerunner of other management systems standards, such as IS0 14001 and OHSAS 18001 and a number of sector specific schemes. The ISO 9001 model is seen as a tried and tested specification for management systems and for improving performance within an organisation. It has guiding principals that suit all types of organisation regardless of size or sector.

The standard requires an organisation to establish a meaningful quality policy and associated procedures with a view to driving continual improvement and maintaining a customer focus and customer satisfaction levels.

The ISO 9000 series of standards comprises ISO 9001, the standard against which companies are certified, as well guidance and interpretation standards, such as ISO 9000 and ISO 9004.

Training in this category includes courses related to ISO9001 awareness and auditing of quality management systems.
