What is Lean?
Course Description:
To become ‘leaner’ is a fundamental goal and guiding principle for many of today’s leading organisations and an essential strategy for survival given intense competition in almost all commercial sectors. The lean approach is based on the systematic elimination of waste and non-value adding activity, with the simultaneous improvement in product or service quality & delivery to the customer. Lean puts people at the centre of any move to continuously improve business performance and thereby harnesses the support and abilities of all.
This one day course is an interactive and exciting exploration of some of the key concepts, ideas and techniques that are utilised throughout the journey towards becoming a ‘lean enterprise’. Be prepared to be challenged and discover through simulation exercises, teaching and debate how your organisation can begin this journey, leading to a future with higher levels of quality and delivery performance, as well as a concurrent reduction in wasteful & unnecessary costs.
Who should attend?
If you are passionate about improving the performance of the business you work in and the processes you are involved with this course is for you. It is designed to give anyone, irrespective of industry sector or role a thorough overview of what it entails for an organisation to begin it’s journey towards becoming lean and how this goal can be realised using the right philosophies and methods. At the end the course participants will be able to make an informed judgement as to how their organisation can begin to embrace a more lean way of thinking.
Benefits to Your Business:
During the day you will have opportunity to see, debate and challenge the key ideas of lean, many of which were designed and implemented first by Toyota (the ‘Worlds’ Most Successful Company’). By the end of this workshop you will:
