This course provides an opportunity to gain an understanding of change management and how to provide leadership to staff in an environment of fast moving change and development. Change management is a critical skill and this workshop has been designed to look at the fundamental challenges in getting people to change their patterns of behaviour and working practices and adopt the new methods that result from the implementation change. The workshop will involve a great deal of delegate participation in discussion groups and mini syndicates to answer questions posed by the facilitator/trainer and share understanding of the concepts of change management with others in the workshop.

Learning Objectives 
- Understand the different types of change and how change affects individuals, teams and organisations 
- Understand the effects of different leadership styles on the change process 
- Learn about and investigate different models of change management 
- Begin to build a road map / action plan for future changes

Course Content
Overview of change management 
- To understand the different types of change and how change affects individual and team performance 
- Overview of the different responses to change and how to manage them effectively 
- Undertake self assessment on management styles

Implementing change 
- Development of a Change Management Plan 
- Identify ways to overcome resistance to change 
- Examine strategies to increase success factors for the change

The role of leadership in change management 
- Overview of the different leadership styles: Visionary; Connective and Adaptive leaders 
- Examine the advantages and disadvantages of each leadership style when dealing with change 
- Explore the differences between management of change and leadership 
- Undertake self assessment on leadership styles
