TWCTC Training (CITB) - Temporary Works Co-ordinator Training

The course was launched by the CITB in response to recent efforts to tighten procedural control on Temporary Works projects, whereby the construction industry issued a mandate that all Temporary Works Co-ordinators are to hold CSkills certification.

Delivered across 2 days, this course is designed to assist those on site who have responsibility for managing all forms of temporary works. It is also designed to give confidence to senior management and those who engage contractors. Participating delegates will reach an assessed standard of knowledge and be awarded a CSkills Site Safety Plus Certificate on successful completion.

The course has the support of a number of organisations: CITB, Temporary Works Forum CECA, UKCG, HSE and FMB, making it transferable across industry.

Who is it for?

All those considered for appointment as Temporary Works Co-ordinators or Temporary Works Supervisors.

This course may also be of interest to others involved in the Temporary Works Co-ordination process. These may include:

- Site and Project Managers

- Designers and Supervisors working for clients

- Consultants and Contractors who need a detailed awareness of the safety and technical implications of temporary works

What will you learn?

- The needs and processes for temporary works co-ordination

- The duties of a TWC

- The roles of others involved in temporary works projects

- The need for temporary works policy and legal aspects

- The detail of BS5975 and the procedural controls described in the Code

- How the TW process is applied in practice

How will you be assessed?

- A multiple choice examination at the end of the course, issued by the CITB

- You will also be expected to be interactive during the course

How will you be awarded?

A CSkills Site Safety Plus Certificate on successful completion of the course and passing the examination
