Training Course Description
Six Sigma is aimed at reducing and controlling variation in business processes. It comes in two flavours: the improvement flavour (DMAIC) which is used to fix an existing broken business process and the design flavour (DFSS) which is used to design new processes or re-engineer those that are so broken that they are beyond fixing using DMAIC.

This course aims to educate and train participants in Transaction Design for Six Sigma to Black Belt level. The course provides participants with the process and tools necessary to design robust lean business processes that will consistently satisfy and delight customers. The course comprises two 5-day modules that will take participants through the DFSS approach of Define, Measure, Analyse, Design, and Verify (DMADV).

Who should attend?
This course aimed at those people who have already achieved Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher) level in Six Sigma improvement (DMAIC). It applies to those people who have been practicing DMAIC and who wish to take the next logical step beyond DMAIC to designing robust lean processes.

Benefits to your business
During the two modules, through an intensive five days of teaching and practical ‘hands on’ exercises, participants will be challenged to develop the skills that can be applied to business process design. At the end of the course participants will be able to design and implement world class processes by:

- Having an understanding of the principles of Design for Six Sigma
- Being able to identify, scope and define candidate DFSS projects
- Being able to identify stakeholders, elicit and analyse their requirements and translate these into specific, precise and measurable technical requirements
- Being able to generate and down select alternative process design concepts and architectures
- Being introduced to the principles of robust lean process design
- Being able to simulate potential process designs to predict performance and assess robustness
- Being able to pilot and implement the new process design and verify its performance
