All business projects and services involve some degree of risk. Identifying, managing and mitigating risk is a key requirement of business management.
This course now incorporates the Institute of Risk Management course "The Management of Risk and Uncertainty".

About the Course:
A thorough risk analysis at the onset of a contract, and throughout the subsequent project, programme or service life cycle, is essential to identify, quantify and manage risks. A good awareness of the types and sources of risk and a proactive approach to operational risk management makes it more likely that contracts will be delivered reliably, successfully, on time and profitably with good customer satisfaction and hence with good prospects for follow on work with that customer.
Objectives:
The objectives of the course are to arm attendees with the following with regard to all types of contract that they might execute:
- Raised awareness of personal risk awareness and its influence on the perception of risk when executing a contract
- Raised awareness of types of risk - political, regulatory, reputational, business, financial, expertise, programmatic, service, technical (functional and non-functional), data protection, information security, health and safety and supplier.
- Proactive identification of risk, and management strategies to avoid, manage or mitigate the adverse impact of risks materialising.
- Awareness of tools and techniques for identifying, managing and mitigating risk.
- The risk register, contingency and what the organisation expects regarding risk in the monthly reporting cycle.
- Using Risk Management to maximise opportunities.
- Successful completion of a short examination leads to award of an Institute of Risk Management certificate.
