Who is it for:
This course is for first line managers – those who have, or are about to acquire supervisory responsibilities. It provides an introduction to health and safety, welfare and environmental issues for those requiring and understanding of their legal responsibilities relevant to their work activities. It will provide a sound knowledge base to enable them to give valuable assistance in safely managing a construction site.

At the end of the course you will be able to:
To ensure candidates have an overview of their responsibilities for health and safety on construction sites. This course provides the ideal introduction for those supervisors who have had some or little previous health and safety training. It can be used as a precursor to attendance on the five-day Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) course.

Course Content
- Health and Safety at Work Act and relevant regulations 
- Specific site issues, which include such topics as work at height 
- Tool Box Talks (Short Duration Training) 
- Control of subcontractors
• Health issues

Candidate assessment:
Continuous assessment by the trainer with an end of course multiple choice assessment and group assessment exercises.


Qualification:
On successful completion of the course and final assessment the candidate will receive an industry recognised CITB certificate valid for 5 years.
