Overview
SharePoint 2010 Advanced Administrator Bootcamp - Advanced 5 day Class delivered using the Microsoft Official Curriculum Material (10231 - Designing and Deploying Microsoft SharePoint 2010) and our own Advanced Workshop content written and developed by Steve Smith – SharePoint MVP, for the 70-668 exam

Prerequisites
Delegates attending this class will have attended our SharePoint 2010 Administrator Bootcamp or have equivalent knowledge and skills.

Prior to taking this course, students should have a general knowledge of networking concepts and a basic understanding of Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 and SharePoint Server 2007. Technically-oriented students are expected to understand and/or be able to perform the following administrative activities:

- DNS - Including ability to create alias records and records in the Hosts file.
- IIS - Create new Web sites, host headers, and work with site security.
- Active Directory Users and Computers - Create new user accounts, reset passwords, and perform general user and group account activities.
- SQL Server - Have a basic understanding of how to apply permissions to a database.
- Windows 2003 Server - Have a basic understanding of Active Directory.
- Networking - Have a basic understanding and the ability to assign IP addresses, host names, and general connectivity issues.

NOTE: Delegates attending this class must have attended a SharePoint 2010 Administrator Course or have been working as an Administrator for SharePoint 2010 for a minimum of 6 months.

Day 1
Architecture Model – Platform / IIS / SharePoint – Level 200

Installation and Farm Configuration – Level 300/400 ( requires AD / IIS / SQL knowledge ) – We will take a new Server all the way through from installation to farm configuration and initial service applications for a base farm so a lot to cover here.

Day 2
Working in SQL for Creating and Managing SharePoint Databases – Level 300
Deep Dive Web Applications – Level 300 / 400
Designing Site Collections including Multi Tenancy – Level 400

Day 3
Extranets – Building SharePoint Web Applications to Support SSL and Multiple Authentication types – level 300/400
Scaling Out – Adding multiple Servers to the SharePoint Farm and Load Balancing the Web Front Ends – level 400
Publishing Application Services Between Farms – Level 300

Day 4
Working with Managed MetaData and Enterprise Content Types – level 300/400
Document Management including rights management – level 300
Records Management and Compliancy – level 300/400

Day 5
MySites and Social Networking including Multiple Farm configurations– Level 300
Configuring, Managing and Scaling Out Search – Level 400
