Prince2 2009 Practitioner Course

Course Outline
PRINCE2® Practitioner is a 5-day non-residential course with nightly homework, which covers the OGC’s PRINCE2® Project Management methodology and syllabi for both PRINCE2® Foundation and Practitioner exams.

We help delegates to apply PRINCE2® to their current project environment during the course so they will gain practical skills by using the techniques to handle real issues. Class sizes are kept small to facilitate lecturer – student interaction and class discussion.

The course is intensive so it is strongly recommended that delegates undertake pre-course preparation before attending, using the PRINCE2® manual and reading guide, which will be provided before the course commences. The more time delegates can give to reading in advance, the greater the benefit during their course.

The exams are taken during the course as follows:

The Foundation exam is a 1-hour, 75-question, multiple choice paper in which delegates must get 50% questions correct in order to pass. The paper is taken on the Thursday afternoon at the end of the training and marked straight away so that delegates know they have passed before leaving the course.

The Practitioner exam is a 2½-hour Objective Test with nine equally weighted questions on a given project scenario. Delegates must get 55% overall in order to pass. Delegates are expected to show their ability to apply the PRINCE2® method to this scenario. The types of question that delegates will complete include multiple choice, confirming if statements made about the scenario are correct or not, placing proposed options into the sequence suggested by the PRINCE2® method, and stating whether assertions made about the scenario match with reasons provided to explain the assertion. The paper is taken after the training on Friday morning, and the papers are all returned to The APM Group for marking, which takes approximately 2 to 3 weeks. Delegates will be advised of their result, by Scoll Methods, as soon as the information is available. Delegates may defer taking the Practitioner exam for up to one month after their course; to give them time to consolidate what they have learnt during the week.

This course has been accredited by the APMG who are the examining body for PRINCE2® and responsible for all aspects of the provision of exams including setting, marking, feedback and appeals. Scoll Methods, as an accredited training organisation, acts as their agent in providing administrative facilities.
