PRINCE2 Practitioner Revision & Registration Exam

The PRINCE2® Examination Board has determined that all PRINCE2® Practitioners should be re-registered within 3-5 years of their original certification. This re-registration comprises a 1-hour examination set at the same standard as the Practitioner exam.


We offer several options to bring you up to date with the methodology and prepare you for the examination, details of which are outlined below:

PRINCE2® Practitioner Revision and Re-Registration Exam Course Overview
You will join delegates who deferred taking the PRINCE2® Practitioner exam following attendance on one of our PRINCE2® courses, or were unsuccessful.

The day comprises a morning revision session addressing topics most likely to appear in the exam and practical examples and discussions on approach for your answers.

The 1 hour open-book Practitioner Re-Registration exam is taken in the afternoon.

The course fees include lunch and refreshments, but please remember to bring your own PRINCE2® manual to the course– ‘Managing Successful Projects with PRINCE2®’.

Pre-Course Preparation
We strongly recommend that you practice answering as many sample examination questions as possible by way of preparation for the exam. If you need extra help, we offer a ‘practice exam question’ service. You would attempt a practice exam paper, which we would mark and provide feedback on.

This will develop your exam technique and will give you an insight into what the examiners are looking for in your answers.

Examination Details
Practitioner Re-Registration is a 1 hour open-book, case study exam. You are expected to show your ability to apply the PRINCE2® method to a given scenario. The paper is returned to The APM Group for marking, which takes approximately 8 weeks. You will be advised of your result, by the training provider, as soon as the information is available. Practitioner Certificates are raised for successful candidates.

If it has been a long time since you did your PRINCE2® training, you may like to consider attending one of our public courses as a refresher before sitting the exam.

You could either attend our 5-day PRINCE2® Practitioner course, which covers the method in full or our 2-day PRINCE2® Conversion course which concentrates on the application of the method for the Practitioner Re-Registration exam.
