Introduction

This course is specially designed for Project Managers who hold a PRINCE2™ Practitioners Certificate and are working towards the ISEB Certificate in Project Management for Information Systems examination.

This covers the “Managing people and other resources” ISEB syllabus elements. It is expected that candidates will also attend the Steria PRINCE2™Planning and Control techniques module and will sit the ISEB Examination.

Who will benefit?
The course is for candidates who are PRINCE2™ Practitioners and are working towards the achievement of the ISEB Certificate in Project Management for Information Systems examination.

Course Content
The People Issues and PRINCE2™ course brings together all of the important people skills and techniques that are most likely required in a PRINCE2™ project environment, now and in the future.

By the end of this course you will be able to: 
- Understand the types of people-related behaviours that can influence project success, and what generates these
- Use a range of strategies and techniques to mitigate the effects of people problems on projects 
- Appreciate the effect of varying levels of motivation on teams in the project environment 
- Understand how motivation and leadership theories can be used to maximise personal effectiveness 
- Identify the factors that need to be addressed to build effective, high performing teams 
- Use techniques for dealing with difficult people issues at all levels in the project organisation 
- Understand the principles of managing, and communicating with Stakeholders at all levels

The course is a mix of lecture and workshop format using discussion groups, role-play and practical exercises to reinforce the course objectives.

Included with the course is a copy of the TSO publication “The People Side of PRINCE2™ – A Project Managers Guide” and a comprehensive set of notes covering each of the lecture sessions.

Pre-requisites
Delegates attending this course should have already be a current Registered PRINCE2™ Practitioner and have attended, or will be attending, the PRINCE2™ Project Planning and Control Techniques course.

Prior to attending the course delegates should have read the TSO publication “The People side of PRINCE2™” which will be issued prior to attendance on the course.
