About the Course:
This course provides experienced transport management staff with the underpinning knowledge that equips them to make informed decisions about the size, structure and acquisition alternatives in the provision of transport resources to support of the business. At the end of the course each participant will be required to prepare and present an individual action plan. These plans will be targeted on areas of business activity that participants can materially improve as a result of having attended the course.

The course enables participants to:
- Establish the transport resource needs of the business
- Analyse and evaluate the financial and operational aspects of alternative acquisition methods
- Determine the economic life of transport assets
- Develop short, medium and long-term transport plans and strategies and policies
- Plan proactively and manage the transport contracts and operations of the business in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner
- Develop Service Level Agreements and introduce and manage contracts for the provision transport and logistics services
- Develop and interpret KPIs for the management of strategic, tactical and operational performance of transport and logistics services
