Who Should Attend?
This course is aimed at supervisors, team leaders and line managers working in all sectors of the food industry. It would be particularly useful for supervisors undertaking either internal audit or supplier approval and would benefit those seeking BRC certification. This qualification may also be appropriate for those who have completed the Level 4 Award in Managing Food Safety..

Benefits of the Course
On completing this course candidates will be able to:
- Explain audit and inspection terminology
- Apply the knowledge relating to the role of the auditor in carrying out effective audits or inspections
- Understand the purpose of audits and inspections
- Understand the benefits and limitations of audits and inspections
- Describe the competencies required by and characteristics of a good inspector
- Explain the stages involved in the inspection cycle
- Describe the techniques used by effective inspectors
- Apply analysis techniques to their findings
Duration
The duration of the course is 6 hours - 1 day. We usually aim to start the course at 9.00am and therefore taking into account time for refreshment and lunch breaks, the course usually finishes around 5.30pm.
Assessment
Candidates are assessed by a 30 question multiple choice examination to be completed in one-hour under examination conditions. Candidates who achieve 20 or more correct answers will pass the examination and receive a pass certificate. Those who achieve more than 25 or more correct answers will receive a merit certificate.
Entry Qualifications and Progression
We would recommend that you have as a minimum entry requirement the Level 3 Award in Supervising Food Safety in Catering/Retail/Manufacturing and/or Level 3 Award in HACCP for Catering/Food Manufacturing course. Ideally the Level 4 Award in Managing Food Safety would be recommended.
