Participants will be tested, and those who are successful will be awarded IPAF Certificates and IPAF PAL Licence cards for each item of equipment. These are valid for 5 years.

A 5-day course in Carlisle.

About the Course:
This unique course is designed to provide line supervisors with practical skills and accreditation to support them in managing staff employed in overhead work using mobile elevated platforms. Whilst training in the use of individual types of equipment is commonly available this is a new opportunity for supervisory management to gain accredited training covering most kinds of overhead equipment by attending one concentrated course delivered by IPAF accredited instructors.

Who Should Attend?
Line and skills supervisors responsible for staff operating and working with the following types of equipment: 
- Scissor lift 
- Self-propelled boom 
- Vehicle mounted platform 
- Trailer push vehicle

Participants are expected to be line supervisors and trade supervisors employed in site management in: 
- Maintenance departments 
- Construction activities 
- Facilities Management 
- Overhead cable distribution (power and telecoms) 
- Cleaning and painting works 
- Tree and vegetation management.

Topics covered will include:
- MEWP categories
- Working at Height theory and tests
- LOLER Safe Use of Harness theory and tests
- Practical instruction and hands-on practice in operating equipment of all types
- Hazards
- Safe Operation
- Pre-use inspection
- Routine daily maintenance of equipment
- Hand-over routines
- Operator training
- Supervision skills for working at height.
