Course Description

This interactive course and workshop explains the automotive process approach essential for conformance with ISO/TS16949:2002. The intensive one-day session ensures that your internal auditors fully understand the automotive process approach and are able to implement a value adding quality management system based on modern approaches to documentation.

Particular attention is given to the establishment of controlled conditions through the use of turtle diagrams and the effective monitoring of processes.

- Incorporating business, contractual, law and regulatory requirements – the integrated management system approach
- Identifying and mapping QMS and business processes
- Using the process approach in the automotive context
- Understanding processes – special reference to the QMS
- Analysing and addressing multifarious customer needs
- Determining contractual (customer-specific) requirements – establishing the ‘voice of the customer’ with an octopus diagram
- Types of process – customer orientated processes (COPs), key business processes, support processes
- Identifying your organization’s processes
- Sequence and interaction of processes – mapping QMS and business processes
- Creating an integrated management system – encompassing all processes
- Instituting effective process control, monitoring and documentation
- Understanding controlled conditions – ‘big policies’ and ‘big rules’
- The six process parameters
- Using turtle diagrams – understanding the principles and practices
- Integrating turtle diagrams with process maps
- Identifying mandatory documented procedures and defined processes
- Understanding the roles of documented procedures, documents, personnel competency and records
- Developing modern QMS documentation
