Who Should Attend?

Those who have only recently become involved in environmental management or for whom environmental management is an integral part of a wide range of responsibilities:

N.B. Anyone who is required to undertake formal auditing of their EMS is advised to attend our ISO 14001/ EMS Internal Auditor training course.

Aims and Objectives
To provide a detailed understanding of how an EMS can be implemented within an organisation.
To enable delegates to identify the key components of an EMS and how this applies to their operations.
To provide a foundation in understanding environmental issues and how to manage them in the workplace.
To enable delegates to assist their organisation in complying with environmental requirements.
To raise the professional competence of those who are involved with environmental management.
To assist in their organisation’s implementation of an EMS to ISO 14001 standard.
To ensure delegates understand the importance of organising and reporting their audit findings.

Expected Outcomes
On successfully completing the course, delegates will be able to: 
- Understand the background of key environmental issues. 
- Identify the key elements of an EMS and how their own systems relate to the standards. 
- State the key requirements of the ISO 14001, EMAS and BS 8555 standards. 
- Undertake a review of their organisation’s EMS and determine opportunities for improvement. 
- Understand the relationship of EMS with other management systems. 
- Appreciate the various means of assessing environmental performance. 
- Implement the key elements of an environmental management system.

Delegates who successfully complete the training will be issued with a Certificate of Attendance, and Completion if assessment is passed.

- Management Review Processes 
- Role of Regulatory Agencies 
- Related Practical Exercises, Case Studies and Feedback

Appraisal of the delegates’ knowledge and performance will be made through a combination of continuous assessment and a written examination (multiple choice and short answers).
