Overview
A comprehensive four day course covering a wide range of first aid emergencies and how to deal with them, enabling participants to qualify to the level of First Aider for the Workplace, meeting the statutory requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

Day One
- Aims and Principles of First Aid
- Assessment of Incidents/Casualties
- Managing the Unconscious Casualty
- Recovery Position (Practice)
- Disorders of Respiration (Asphyxia causing Hypoxia)
- Resuscitation (Theory and Practice)

Day Two
- Revision (Recovery Position and Resuscitation)
- Disorders of Circulation (Shock, Fainting, Heart Attack, Anaphylactic Shock)
- Internal Bleeding
- Crush Injuries
- First Aid Boxes
- Hygiene Precautions
- External Bleeding and Wounds
- Dressings and Bandages (Practice)
- Burns and Scalds

Day Three
- Revision (Recovery Position, Bleeding and Resuscitation)
- Disorders of Consciousness (Epilepsy, Diabetes, Head Injuries, Stroke)
- Poisoning
- Joint and Muscle Injuries
- Fractures (Theory and Practice)
- Spinal Injuries

Day Four
- Minor Illnesses
- Handling and Transporting
- HSE Regulations (including Record Keeping)
- Course Work Revision (Theory and Practice)
- Final Assessments: Theory & Practical

Course Certification
A three year certificate is awarded on completion of this course, approved by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
