Who Will Benefit From This Course?
The course is specially designed for executives who recognise the benefit of understanding financial information.
Description of the Course:
For many people, financial information is presented in a way that is intimidating and difficult to understand. The first aim of this two-day course is to sweep away the mysteries of financial jargon. The second aim is to translate the formats and conventions of financial information making them easy to understand. The course starts by explaining how money is used in a business and the difference between cash flow and profit. This is followed by a session explaining the different types of costs and how they are quantified.
Then the course moves on to look at statutory accounts and Management accounts. Before very long, under the helpful guidance of the tutor, delegates begin to analyse a set of accounts and as confidence builds up start to form judgments on financial data. The final sessions cover evaluating financial risk, forecasting, budgets and pricing methods.
Course Objectives:
- To cut through the waffle that surrounds business finance and provide a simple understanding of finance and accounting matters.
- To provide delegates with some ability to analyse and use financial tools as an aid to making better business decisions.
What You Will Gain:
- Greater credibility with customers, distributors and others who expect an understanding of money matters to feature in any business negotiation.
- A knowledge of the data required from accountants to make better business decisions.
- An ability to read behind accounts and to hold one's own at any finance meeting.
