Overview
Course duration: 1 day.

The aim of this course is to provide participants with the basic knowledge and training to enable them to be able to deal with an emergency situation in the initial stages and to become an appointed person who can assist the First Aider.

This one-day course is a mixture of theoretical knowledge and hands-on practice with delegates learning mainly by demonstration and replication. At the end of the course the participants receive a certificate of attendance. This certificate lasts for three years. Under current Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidelines, it is strongly recommended that first-aiders undertake annual refresher training.

Is it right for me?
This course is designed for people who are nominated to carry out first aid in emergency situations at work, until the arrival of emergency medical services. HSE requires all organisations to have a minimum of at least one Appointed Person available at all times during work hours.

This comprehensive one-day first aid course is very practical and will require participants to demonstrate procedures on the floor. Suitable clothing such as trousers and flat shoes are recommended.
