This course is designed for employees at all levels.
Objectives:
By the end of the course delegates will be able to:
- Understand the legal background relating to stress
- Define “stress” and differentiate between pressure and stress.
- State the short and long term effects of stress on an individual and the organisation.
- Identify the early warning signs of stress to enable a proactive approach therefore creating an environment where prevention of stress is key.
- Carry out informal meetings designed to support the risk assessment process.
- Devise strategies for dealing with stress in line with their legal duties and responsibilities as laid out in the new HSE Standards on work-related stress.
- Complete the requirements of the following areas: -
1. Setting up a risk assessment
2. Evaluating the results
3. Production of agreed action plans for joint responsibility to manage stress
4. Identifying training needs
5. Monitoring and reviewing
