Overview:
This course is aimed at any one working with people on a day to day basis. The award will help individuals recognize when a situation is becoming confrontational and take steps to diffuse the situation. It is vital for those working in the security, care, retail, health care transport, youth services, community workers or education sectors. It is also a valuable skill that can benefit anyone.

Course Objectives:
There is one unit for this qualification which covers the following:
- Assess and reduce the risk of violence in the environment
- Identify behaviour that indicates an escalation towards violence and take appropraite measures to avoid or calm and defuse the situation
- Identify post incident support and report the circumstances to provide information for personal and organisational development

Additional Information:
Candidates must attend the full two days. There will be a multi-choice assessment at the end of the second day that the candidates underpinning knowledge will be tested. This course is accredited with City and Guilds.
