Objectives
On completion of the course, delegates shall be competent in:- 
- Understanding current legislation regarding confined space entry. 
- Recognising types of confined spaces and their associate hazards 
- Organising and implementing appropriate accident and emergency procedures. 
- The safe use and maintenance of escape breathing apparatus

Who For
Any individuals who enter confined spaces such as manholes, shafts, chambers, etc, or those who assist with confined space operations

Course Content 
- Definition and types of confined spaces 
- Legislation 
- Confined space and Hazards 
- Permits to work 
- Safe working procedures – including local water company procedures 
- Hygiene and Personal Protective Equipment 
- Access Equipment – Tripods, Winches, Safety, Harnesses. 
- Breathing Apparatus – Escape sets 
- Accident/Emergency Procedures and Self-rescue. 
- A certificate valid three years will be issued to successful candidates.

Training Method 
- A highly participative hands on course with practical exercises to compliment the classroom theory session 
- Delegates are taught how to work as a team when affecting a confined space entry. 
- Each delegate has the use of his / her own escape set for the duration of the course. 
- Entry into the confined space with the aid of tripod, winch, fall arrest harness and teamwork.
