City and Guilds 2377-11 is the benchmark qualification for anyone who intends to carry out and manage service registers, and to oversee the inspection and testing of electrical equipment.

Also known as Portable Appliance Testing the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 states “as may be necessary to prevent danger, all systems shall be maintained so as to prevent, so far as is reasonably practicable, such danger” - this then is the basis of in service testing of electrical equipment.

This course will specifically train those individuals who are either asked to schedule, maintain and administer asset registers, or to be asked to carry out the management of those that are carrying out the visual inspections and instrument tests.

Although there are no pre entry requirements to attend this course, we do recommend that you should have some prior knowledge of electrical theory and principles together with a basic understanding of electrical terminologies.

This course will benefit those individuals who are involved in the testing of electrical equipment that is not part of the fixed wiring of the electrical system.
