Audience:
This course is designed for first line managers, foremen, gangers, team leaders and supervisors. It is for those who have, or about to acquire, supervisory responsibilities.
It provides an introduction to Health & Safety, welfare and environmental issues for those requiring an understanding of their legal responsibilities relevant to their work activities. It will provide a sound knowledge base to enable them to give valuable assistance in safely managing a construction site.
Objectives:
To enable delegates given supervisory responsibilities understand their duties, what is expected of them and to ensure they contribute to the safety of the workplace.

Assessment of the Course:
The course material is evaluated by means of a multi-choice assessment paper as well as being expected to be interactive during the course and developing and presenting a toolbox talk".
Course Length:
The course consists of 2 lecture days including examinations.
Course Progression:
This course is an ideal foundation for obtaining a basic understanding of health & safety duties and responsibility for junior management, upon successful completion of this course a natural progression would be the five day site management safety training scheme (SMSTS) course.
Existing site managers, agents, surveyors and persons holding positions of managerial control should attend the five day SMSTS
