CIEH Principles of Manual Handling.

About the Course:
The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) Principles of Manual Handling course is aimed at those who carry out manual handling activities at work and gives employees essential knowledge and understanding of manual handling basics. The course lasts for 3 and a half hours with light refreshments and all course materials provided.

The topic areas covered are:
- The process of Manual Handling in the workplace.
- Manual Handling injuries and the activities that cause them.
- Manual Handling assessment and control options.
- Responsibilities imposed by the Manual Handling Operations Regulations

Requirements:
It is recommended that delegates hold CIEH Level 2 Award in Health and Safety before attending the Principls of Manual Handling course, but this is not essential.

Assessment:
Assement is by a multiple-choice exam at the end of the course, in which delegates have to achieve 15 correct questions out of 20. Succesful delegates then recieve the CIEH accredited Principles of Manual Handling certificate, or a Certificate of Attendance if they achieve less than 15.
