Level 2 Awards in Food Safety in Catering/Retail/Manufacturing (Refresher)

This qualification is aimed at food handlers in catering, retail or manufacturing businesses, who have previously achieved the Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering/Retail/Manufacturing to remind them of their responsibilities towards food safety, keep their knowledge up-to-date and become aware of any changes in legislation.

Course Content
- Responsibilities for food safety
- Personal hygiene
- Work environment
- Product safety

Successful completion of the training programme and assessment will enable candidates to understand:
- Their personal responsibility for food safety
- The importance of keeping themselves clean and hygienic
- How working areas are kept clean and hygienic
- The importance of keeping food safe

Duration
The duration of the course is 3 hours. We usually aim to start the course at either, 9.00am, 1.00pm or 5.00pm.

Venue
Courses may be held at your premises. We appreciate that it is sometimes difficult to release staff on training courses, therefore we offer the flexibility to hold the course either in the morning, afternoon or evening, to suit your business requirements. We also regularly run "open" courses at centralised locations.

Assessment
There is a short multi-choice test at the end of the course. Candidates are required to correctly answer 20 out of 30 questions in order to achieve a Chartered Institute of Environmental Health Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering/Retail/Manufacturing (Refresher) Certificate.

Entry Qualifications and Progression
Candidates must provide evidence of having previously undertaken and passed a level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering, Retail or Manufacturing within 3 years of the course start date and have been awarded by any QCA/Ofqual accredited awarding body. Following this course you might wish to consider the CIEH Level 3 Award in Implementing Food Safety Management Procedures or perhaps the CIEH Level 3 Award in Supervising Food Safety in Catering, Retail or Manufacturing .
