E – Welfare
Requirements for the provision of welfare facilities

Assessment and Certification:
All delegates who are successfully on the multiple choice paper will be awarded a certificate from the CIEH.

Duration:
One Day Certificated Course.

Suitable For:
This course is designed for all employees and has been developed to meet the National Occupational Standards. It provides employees with fundamental health and safety knowledge across many key areas and is applicable to all industry sectors.

Objectives:
By the end of the course delegates will be able to:
- Understand the importance of health and safety standards and how the different standards affect workers
- Understand the legal obligations of both the employer and employee
- Identify, assess and provide control measures for health hazards within the workplace
- Describe accident reporting processes and provide preventative measures for some potential accidents
- Describe the requirements of welfare provisions and the effect of specific risks
- List the importance of maintenance, good housekeeping and building arrangement for a workplace
- Understand the risk assessment process and its application and types of preventative methods for other areas or activities e.g. manual handling, chemicals, ergonomics, working at height, transport safety, noise and vibration.
