About the Course:

Health and Safety law requires employers to provide information, instruction, training and supervision to make sure employees know how to work safely and without risks to health. Good training helps employers to comply with the law, and can also lead to real benefits such as saving money, improving productivity, raising morale and helping create a happier, healthier workforce.

The chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) Award gives employees essential knowledge and understanding of health and safety basics. It is suitable for people working in any sector including business and retail.

The course runs at The Source over one full day with light refreshments and all course materials provided.

The topics covered are:
- Introduction to health and safety and safety law
- Health, Welfare and Safety
- The workplace and work equipment
- Risk assessment, manual handling and hazardous substances
- Ergonomics, working at height, transport and noise and vibration

Assessment:
Assement is by a mulitple-choice exam at the end of the day, in which delegates have to achieve 20 correct questions out of 30. Succesful delegates then recieve the CIEH Accredited Level 2 Award in Health and Safety on the Workplace, or a Certificate of Attendance if they achieve less than 20.
