Course Overview:
Work related violence is on the rise and yet employers have a duty of care to provide a safe place of work. This is not easy in environments where the potential for conflict and aggression is high. High staff turnover and a lack of training mean many people are vulnerable to physical and psychological damage. The costs to businesses can be very high indeed. The CIEH has developed this qualification to help organisations protect their staff as well as their organisational and operational effectiveness.

Suitable for employees in the private or public sector who deal directly with members of the public, whether frequently or occasionally. The qualification is as relevant to receptionists as it is to caseworkers or sales staff.

Course syllabus includes: 
- The law 
- The work environment 
- Resolving confrontational situations 
- Personal safety

- Nationally recognised and respected certificated course delivered by a QTLS trainer with experience in a variety of sectors 
- No jargon approach with clear scenarios that delegates can relate to 
- An understanding of the laws that apply to businesses and their employees and an insight into the concepts of safe working and how the risk of conflict can be assessed 
- An ability to use appropriate methods to deescalate a confrontational situation 
- A range of training tools including CIEH – Conflict Resolution and Personal Safety course book and PowerPoint presentation
